All the patchwork bedspreads are made with curtain fabrics which I prewashed. I have found that using curtain fabric gives a good weight of bedspread and eliminates the need for wadding and quilting. I used sheeting fabric to back the bedspreads thus hiding the untidy seams which would otherwise be on show.
